Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine is a system and philosophy of medicine that has been around for hundreds, perhaps thousands, of years. Before the advent of ‘conventional’ medicine, which uses a wide variety of drugs and surgical procedures, almost every doctor learned how to use herbs, minerals, homeopathy, and other natural methods to treat disease.
Dr. Elizabeth Large is a licensed and board-certified Naturopathic Doctor. Elizabeth Large earned the degree, ND (Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine) from Southwest College, Tempe, Arizona, a four-year, accredited naturopathic medical school. She is licensed through the state of California. She has significant teaching experience, including instruction of anatomy, physiology and nutrition. Dr. Large worked at Recovery Systems Clinic with Julia Ross, treating mood disorders, addiction, eating disorders and stress-induced illness Elizabeth has led healing groups for women and is the founder of Spiral Women’s Health, a collaborative of professional female health practitioners. Elizabeth has many years of experience working to help people achieve their health goals, physically and emotionally. She understands the interplay between mind and body and believes that in our quest for health, all aspects of our lives must be addressed.

Addiction: There are many underlying factors contributing to addiction. The causes must be determined through interview and clinical testing. Elizabeth assist patients in maintaining stable blood sugar levels through good nutrition, avoiding food triggers, supplementing with key nutrients for deficiencies or candida and identifying emotional causes.
Digestive Disorders: Bloating, acid reflux, constipation, food allergies, candida, diarrhea, gallstones, hepatitis, IBS, hemorrhoids, high cholesterol/triiglycerides, ulcer, gastritis, nausea, sluggish digestion.
Women’s Health: Women’s menstrual disorders, endometriosis, menopause, hair loss, heavy bleeding (menorrhagia), hormonal imbalance, hot flashes, infertility, insomnia, nausea of pregnancy, obesity, acne and other diseases related to women’s health.
Emotional Illness DEPRESSION: Modern psychiatry focuses on manipulating neurotransmitter levels in the brain rather than identifying and eliminating the psychological factors, which are responsible for producing the imbalances in serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine and GABA. Depression can often be due to an underlying organic or physiological cause. It is important to rule out the simple organic factors, which are known to contribute to depression.
