Does anyone know of any natural remedies for eczema on a 13yr old boy?
My 13yr old son gets bad eczema the back of his knees and inside his elbows.
Ignore the homeopaths’ above. Homeopathy does NOT help eczema. This condition comes and goes, they confuse that with their placebo pills working.
The key with eczema is preventing flare ups, so avoid triggers and keep moisturized, etc. During flare ups, topical steroid creams will reduce inflammation. If used correctly (thin layer) and for short periods of time, side effects, such as skin thinning, are minimal.
In very severe cases, antibiotics (usually topical) but sometimes oral, are needed if the eczema becomes infected. Take your son to an MD to discuss management.
